Howabout the Rite of Spring, Pertruska and the Firebird suites all by
Strawinsky. Or Bruckner 4/9. Or Shostakovitch - no 11 if you're really into
loud brass and drums (you could also try 4, 5, 8, 10). Or Carmina Burana?

The Finale to Firebird was recorded by Grimethorpe some years ago. I
strongly recommend you buy it. The recording's dreadful (their HUGE dynamic
range is compressed beyond all recognition) but listen to it anyway. Whilst
I'm driveling on about dynamic range in recording listen to Brighouse play
the setting of Tocatta and Fugue in D minor (the original not the pop version),
now that recording has some serious dynamic range. Listen on vinyl on a
Linn not CD of course.

It is owned by the same company. What beefs me is they play plenty of
arrangements for obscure orchestrations, harps and so on, but nothing for
brass band, not even original music like Blitz.
