Re: American "English" Style Brass Bands



My limited experience indicates that most Americans are far more comfortable
with parts provided in treble for treble instruments and bass clef for bass
instruments. The often-used convention of treble clef scores on one side of
the page, bass clef scores on the other (along with Eb/F on opposite sides
for the horns) as provided by some publishers (see, for instance the
Salvation Army: American Brass Ensemble Series (USA), or the Chester Music:
Just Brass series (GB)) takes care of everyone.  We certainly prefer that
format here in the Hudson Valley of New York State.
