For all those interested in natural trumpet music - I have found the answer. Anyone even remotely curious about what trumpets should REALLY sound like should get one of these albums: Music for Trumpet and Orchestra Stradella - Biber - Vivaldi - Albinoni - Handel soloist Crispian Steele-Perkins Tafelmusik directed by Jeanne Lamon Sony "Vivarte" Courtly Trumpet Ensemble Music Diabelli - Speer - Biber - Keller - others soloist Ed Tarr Bengt Eklund's Baroque Ensemble BIS Grammofon of Sweden I have a new respect for brass altogether, as I thought I was getting to be atleast moderately skilled at the valved trumpet only to realize I would have been nothing had I played on a natural trumpet 200 years ago. The duets on the first alblum by Biber are some of the most beautiful recordings I have ever heard! Does anyone know where I could acquire written music for natural trumpet? thanks, -steve "Just gone valveless" ? Stephen E.
