This years (April 1996) NABBA Championships will be in Columbus, Ohio, which
is just beyond Michigan, and might be an easy 2-days drive for you. And I 
believe the 1997 Championships will be in either Seattle, Washington, or
Minneapolis, Minnesota, both within your range. 
  As far as arranging something else, you might contact Bert Wiley, 
Secretary of NABBA, and see if he will send you the list of member bands.
Then you could contact them directly and troll for interest. You could
also submit a blurb to the Brass Band Bridge, the NABBA Newsletter.
