Re: Bugel =?= Bugle

In reply to Tjip's question about the bugle :

The dutch word for flugelhorn is bugel. The function of a flugelhorn in a
brassband
is quite different than the function of a flugelhorn (bugel) in a dutch "
fanfare".

The function of a flugelhorn in a dutch " fanfare" is that of a cornet in a
brassband.

In a brassband there is only one flugelhorn. This flugelhorn is the link
between cornetsound
and the sound of the horns. This flugelhorn is also used as a solovoice.

The flugelhornpart in a dutch "fanfare" is used as the melodyline. If the
flugelhorn in a dutch
"fanfare" is used as solovoice this is the same as the principal solocornet
in a brassband.
