After spending five years as principal cornet with the Besses Boy's Band, Mark progressed to take over the coveted position of Principal Cornet with the National Youth Brass Band of Britain, and later moved on to the same position with the legendary Wingates Band. In January 1992, Mark accepted the offer to become Principal Cornet with the Britannia Building Society Band, aged only 20, and with it took over one of the most illustrious positions in the banding movement. Mark is in demand throughout the country as a solo performer, being a featured artist at the 1993 European Brass Band Championships Gala Concert and more recently at the 1995 Cornet and Trumpet Convention held at Manchester's Royal Northern College of Music. As well as winning numerous solo awards and competitions, Mark has been featured on BBC radio and also has solo recordings to his credit. Nigel Fielding Nigel was born in Glossop, Derbyshire. He received his first Soprano Cornet tuition from Glossop School, where he was a member of the Glossop School Brass Band. Nigel attended University College Salford where he was taught by David King. Soon after graduating Nigel was offered the job of Soprano Cornet tutor at Salford, a job he still holds today, as well as teaching at many schools in the North West of England. He has played Soprano Cornet with the Wingates Band, Foden OTS Band, Fairy Band, Black Dyke Mills Band and now with the Grimethorpe Colliery Band. Nigel has won every major title in Brass Bands, and has been a soloist in many countries, including New Zealand, Japan, Brazil and the USA Glyn Williams (i.v.m. drukke werkzaamheden van Jonathon Webster is het mogelijk dat Glyn de workshop voor Bariton verzorgt.) >From Aberystwyth in North Wales Glyn first received brass tuition on cornet at age 9. He moved on to Baritone before settling on Euphonium which he has been playing for some 7 years. He began his brass band playing with the non-competing Towyn Silver Band, moving on in turn to the 4th Section Royal Oakley Band and Menal Bridge, the 3rd Section band where he remained until attending University College Salford in 1994. Glyn has played Solo Euphonium with the National Youth Brass Band of Whales with whom he won the Best Instrumentalist Award at the National Youth Brass Band Championships at Wembley Conference Centre in 1992. As a Band soloist he has received numerous prizes for best Euphonium and in the field of solo playing has to his credit three first and two seconds at the annual Urdd Eisteddfodd. Glyn was finalist in the British Open Solo Championships in 1994 and is thought by many to be a potential future winner of the title. Since attending University College Salford, where he is a 1st year BA student in Brass Musicianship, as well as the college band, Glyn has played with BT Brass Band, BNFL Band and is currently with Britannia Building Society Band where as Solo Euphonium he has made his contribution to Britannia's recent successes in winning the Swiss Open Brass Band Championships and the All England Masters. eric.de.cloe@xxxxxxxxxx The Netherlands > [fold] 1 ~~~ Blue Wave/Pro v2.20 [NR]
