Introductory Message I represent the Crystal Palace Band which is based in South London and currently competes in local SCABA area contests at Section 1 level and British Brass Band Championships at Section 4 level (although we have recently had confirmation thawe have been successful in being promoted to section 1 with effect from 1st January 1996). We have recently started a training band and still have a few places available for anyone out there on the NET who is interested (or knows of anyone else who would like to participate in this kind of musical & social activity). Rehearsal night: Wednesday @ 7pm (training band) Wednesday @ 8pm (regular band) Venue: Virgo Fidelis Convent Central Hill Crystal Palace London My husband (R. Tregaskes) represents the Fulham Band who are based in Central London - in fact the last remaining true "central" London Brass Band. They have recently competed in the section 4 area of the National Championships but are primarily a non-contesting band. 1995 is Fulham Band's centenary year and arrangements have been made to mark this with a celebration concert on Saturday 21st October 1995 at Fulham Town Hall (7.30pm) start. Tickets are 4 pounds & 2 pounds (concessions) and are available either in advance (please contact angela@xxxxxxxxxxx for for details) or on the door. The Fulham Band are represented internationally amongst their ranks and as such have a reasonably high turnover of players when they move on to other parts of Europe/the world. The band is therefore always pleased to welcome new players, at the moment especially Bb bass players. Rehearsal night: Thursday @ 7.45pm Venue: The Music Box Hammersmith Broadway Hammersmith Road London (nearest tube Hammersmith Broadway) GREETINGS TO ALL FELLOW BANDSMEN & WOMEN ON THE NET! Both the Crystal Palace Band and the Fulham Band would be happy to see any bandspersons (poltically correct term) who are passing through London on a Wednesday or Thursday evening at the applicable time and place. Regards. & best wishes to you all.
