I am interested in identifying one or more good resources for writing program notes and/or curriculum guides for an upcoming children's concert. Our selections will feature music from around the world. The current program includes: Liberty Fanfare or Olympic Spirit by John Williams The Man Who Invented Music by Don Gillis ENGLAND The Vanished Army by Kenneth Alford ITALY Florentiner ("Grande Marcia Italiana) by Julius Fucik SPAIN Amparito Roca by Jamie Texidor FRANCE French National Defile March by A. Turot GERMANY Old Comrades March by Carl Teike BELGIUM March of the Belgian Parachutists by Pierer Leemans UNITED STATES On the Mall by E. F. Goldman The Stars and Stripes Forever by Sousa music for departing the auditorium: CIRCUS MUSIC Whip and Spur by Thomas Allen Please don't flame me; I didn't pick the music or composers but I do want to help the young people's teachers have viable and helpful materials to prepare their students to attend this concert. If you would contact me off the list, I will be happy to summarize the results on what "the best resources" are.
