[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Playing opportunities in London/Leichster (sp?)
Hi all!
First, my apologies for the length of the signature below.
Second, I have a friend who has a student in his band who is moving to the UK
this summer. She is an excellent horn player, and is going to be looking for
playing opportunites there. She indicated that her family is moving to
Leichster (sp?), but she may be going to boarding school in London. The
questions I have are:
1. Are there playing opportunities for her?
2. She mentioned something about needing to audition to be ranked to play in
certain grades of bands. As a newcomer to brass bands, I have no clue. Is
this true, and if so, how does she go about arranging for the audition?
3. I get the impression that she may or may not be playing her horn. What is
a comparable instrument that she could play?
4. Finally, are there other brass/woodwind band opportunites for her?
She's 17, so she'll have one year left before going off to college. If you
have any information, please email me privately, unless you feel that the post
would benefit everyone. Thank you in advance, and congrats to the Illinois
Brass Band for their accomplishment!
