I am a member of one of the only youth brass bands in America, and the reason we have been so succesful is because our directors treat us like we are intelligent young adults and they are like surrogate parents. Marty Jenkins, who subscribes to this list, can attest to that because he is my band's asst. director, and he is a tremendously friendly guy as well as a great conductor. Make them want to stay in the organization. Do that by making them feel at home during rehearsals. Matt LaFontaine Dublin Scioto HS Boy's Varsity Tennis Team Dublin Scioto HS Marching Band '98 Bari.
