Re: Getzen Bass Trom. 2nd trigger question

Hi!

Matt,
First of all the instrument is pitched in Bb (e.g. Bb is in
first). Then first trigger puts the instrument into F with the low F in
1st. I think the Eterna is a Dependent valved instrument which means you
can't have both triggers on at the same time- you can only have one or
the other. In this case, if you pull the second trigger it puts both
valves on automatically so it goes into D, with the low D in 1st. If I'm
wrong about it being a dependent system, in that case the second valve
will go on by itself (independent system) therefore putting the
instrument into Gb. So if you go ahead and put both the triggers on
together it will be in D like the independent, but you are blowing
through 2 valves.

As I say, I am pretty sure that the Getzen is a dependent Bb/F/D.
Hope this helps!
