NYBB-GB visit to North Carolina 18th-29th July

You'll be interested to know that the National Youth Brass Band of Great
Britain, under its resident conductor Roy Newsome, is holding its summer
course this year at Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, NC, USA. A
number of concerts are planned as part of the course, as follows:

Sat 20th July: Open air concert at WCU campus.
Sun 21st July: Outdoor concert Ashville, p.m.
Mon 22nd July: Short concert before baseball game in Ashville, p.m.
Wed 24th July: Evening concert in Cullowhee.
Fri 26th July: Evening concert in Cashiers.
Sat 27th July: Concert in Dillsboro.
Sun 28th July: Farewell concert at Cullowhee.

At the moment there is no more precise information available on concert
venues. It may be possible to get more precise information nearer the
time from WCU. If anyone requires any other information about the
NYBB-GB, I'll be happy to try to oblige. Alternatively, you can contact the
Band's secretary, Mr Bill England, whose address is:

Anyone who has heard the NYBB in the past will know that they are
well worth listening to - I'd encourage any brass enthusiast in the area to
attend at least one of their concerts. In the past the band has supplied
brass players to Britain's leading orchestras, and will doubtless continue
to do so in the future.
