I was shocked to hear of this news yesterday. Eric was one of the three
people I was in discussion with in Spring last year, and it was our
mutual enthusiasm about banding that sparked the idea of this list. It
is fair to say that without Eric, along with Tjip and Steve, this list
would not be here.

Eric was one of the most supportive of my (uphill) efforts to break in to the
arranging market, he was always happy to see my arrangments and to try to
get them run through.
