Hi Mary,

Glad to see Northern Band entering the Net.

As a 'ex pat' living in Lincoln , I miss some of the good old North 
East ways.  I was born in Sunderland ( not my fault! ). Started at 
school (BEDE) in 1971, and joined the Sunderland Transport Band in 
1973. It changed names from Sunderland Borough Band to the Sunderland 
City band now ( although the numbers have declined to about 10. - my 
Dad (Jimmy)  still plays/conducts ).

I believe Ian Naylor plays ( health permitting) with the Felling 
band. He was an ex Sunderland Borough player.

I'd be interested in contacting any others that used to play in ( or 
know )  the Sunderland band.  I know a few played with Newcastle Brown 
Ales.
