Here's the first of probably many posting with the results of the 144th
British Open Brass Band Championship :

Position	Band		Draw	Points

1st	Marple		22	196
2nd	Tredegar		      9	    195
3rd	BNFL		13	193
4th	Williams F	10	192
5th	Britannia B.S	3	190
6th	Y.B.S		19	189
7th	Grimethorpe	20

Black Dyke drew number 1 and came 14th. In my opinion Williams Fairy were by
far the best band, but that is only my opinion. They also seemed to get the
best round of applause of the day. It was however an excellent day, with a
supeb concert to follow in the evening.
