For those of you unable to make our get together (see point 16 of the FAQ and the WWW page) the software you will need to be able to hear us is now available from http://www.realaudio.com. A link to this page now exists from the WWW page if you forget it. The software is a plugin for Netscape 2 and upwards, and Internet Explorer 3.0. I have successfully downloaded and got it up using the Netscape version, and within half an hour or so was listening to radio stations broadcasting on the net. I do not have windows `95, which I understand to be a requirement for IE3.0, so only having IE2.0 means that I have only tested this configuration. I do not know of a Mosaic version, so if you're using Unix you may be snookered. Further more I can't try it on the MAC. Now for the bad news. To receive good quality music you need at least a 28.8K modem. I only have a 14.4K modem so I have only been able to test it with speech. Nigel W. tells me that the Cybercafe intend a 'dry run' so that we can all check our configurations before it's too late, so if you're intending to listen rather than come in person please download the software. -- Nigel Horne.
