Hello all,
Well, I got to band practice and surprise, surprise, the lights were 
on. Our President then made the announcement that tonight Monday the 
23rd day of September 1996 will be the last time Waratah-Mayfield 
Brass Band (ESTABLISHED 1884) will be rehearsing under the Waratah 
Oval Grandstand, at this moment we have no new, or even temporary, home 
to go to. Thank you Newcastle City Council for the unbelieveable 
support and help you have been to the Band.

I'd like to remind our Lord Mayor of his speech at the recent East
Coast of Australia Championships where he said how much pride and
respect he had for the Newcastle's Band, well Lord Mayor the best
Band in the State let alone the Region is at this moment without a
place to practice, we'd really like to see some of that respect and
pride very soon.
