About the YBS CD "Essays for Brass", I think that the whole band does a great job and you really enjoy listen to these classic Salvation Army pieces, but just as Robert Miller put it: >the cornet section is a little too heavy For example listen to the opening fanfare in "Call of the Righteous". It is a FANFARE and then you can't play with heavy vibrato! It gives the listener a completely wrong feeling. Personally I don't like that sort of vibrato at all, not in any kind of music. I hope you all don't get mad at me, remember - it's just my own opinion. I know that at least we in Sweden hasn't got the same ideal regarding the vibrato as most English bands.
