Oh dear, I seem to have stirred something up!!!

OK, I admit to having a slight attachment to the second - placed band (I am
the solo trombone player !) and how dare BTM come along, play out of their
skins and cause Tredegar's first defeat in Wales for over two years!

It illustrates the difficulty of comparing bands playing different pieces
of music.

The experience and authority of Mr. Newsome is without question!! The
choice that Mr. Newsome made was that of an exciting and thrilling
performance over a musical ( some would say reserved ) one. A similar
choice made by three similarly qualified adjudicators four weeks ago, is
currently preoccupying the wider brass band world !

Sorry if my initial knee - jerk reaction sounded like sour grapes....it
was!
