Dear Michael Hrivnak, I'm not a computer music buff myself, but Peter Graham tells me that after trying many programs, he's found "Sibelius 7" is the bee's knees. It does everything he wants. He claims it's cut his writing and composing time more than in half. There is a draw back with it though - one has to buy the hardware with the software. It won't operate on anything but its own hardware. But even then it is reasonably priced. Hope this is of some use. I play french horn and am first chair in my high school. I feel like I want to start writing some music of my own, but hand-writing seems like an awefully troublesome task. Can anyone reccomend a computer program that I can do this with? I'd like to be able to have it automatically transpose a piece into another key, and I would like it to be able to play the music I write, if such a feature exists.
