Try poking around the Web for some more opinions. There used to be a FAQ
on music notation software at

but it doesn't seem to be there any more. Don't know whether it moved or
totally disappeared.

Finale and Encore usually seem to end up on everyone's short list. I use
Encore. It's okay - whole lot better than doing it by hand, but you
still end up doing a lot of grunt work.
