Greetings, The band I'm in is made up of people with wide variation in abilities. What's worse many don't have (or don't make) time for studying the basics - articulation, scales, duplets/triplets, etc. As a result, we have some sloppy entrances, different articulations, and not very tight performances overall. Are there any books available similar to beginner band books that include exercises and etudes but for more advanced players? What do other bands do to increase the overall level of technical ability/intonation in the group? (to give you an idea of where we're at technically we put on a pretty credible performance of Cyril Jenkins' Coriolanus last week and did Vinter's Triumphant Rhapsody in the spring) Thanks for the help, Bob Sadler BBb Bass, Saskatoon Brass Band -- unsubscribe or receive the list in digest form, mail a message of 'help' to listserv@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
