Of course, the musical director of a band is going to have ideas and things 
he/she would like to do, and most of the time the band will agree and go along 
with them.  IMHO however, at the end of the day, the Musical Director is simply 
employed by the band to act in that capacity.  He/she is not a member of the 
band, but an employee, and as such, should accept decisions made by the band.
