I'm posting this for the benefit of any percussionists within range of Manchester UK, because the event hasn't been very well publicised. This is obviously of great interest to brass band percussionists. Although amateurs, they are required to play in a wide variety of styles with as much authenticity as they can manage, often with very little guidance from the composer, arranger or conductor. I would semi-respectfully suggest that conductors, arrangers and composers who are less than au fait with modern brass band percussion writing could learn and draw inspiration from this event as well. Brass players, please pass this info on to your percussionists. *************************************************************** Day of Percussion Sunday January 26th 1997 (next Sunday!)
