Right, my last words on this subject, hopefully, maybe :),

1. Don't tell me, or anyone else to shut up, it's not your place to. This list
is for discussing bands, and thats what I was doing. If you don't want to
listen to the discussion, don't read the mail. The subject will tell you what
it's about. If you just don't want to listen to me, then don't read my
messages. Simple.

2. I don't care if Philip Wilby, the list or anyone else agrees with me. As
i've said a million times, it's just my opinion. Its not a competition to see
who can win the argument. From seeing that Philip Wilby wrote a *TEST-PIECE*
based around jazz, then it says to me that he feels that it will test the
medium and that he sees bands as having a bit of trouble dealing with jazz??,
but of course i could be wrong.

3. I'd really like to hear the test piece. Its something new, and as you
pointed out in an earlier post, will appeal to a wider audience. Do you know
any more about it. Do the soloists have to improvise or anything??

4. This should be my last posting about this, so we can close the 'can of
worms' now, but if you want to discuss it privately, mail me.

5. I agree, that Philip Wilby is probably the best brass band composer at the
moment.

OK, thats about all I have to say. Thanks to all that contributed to the
topic. And i'm not a sore loser...:-)

Grrrrrrr
