RE: Insurance info request (UK)

We use Abbey Associates in eastbourne - they have a band insurance scheme
giving all risks cover to all band owned gear and includes public liability
insurance & overseas cover. I actually designed the scheme some 10 years
ago when working for Abbey and I believe it is still at the same rate now
as it was then. Policies are underwritten by The Independant Insurance Coy.

Does anyone have any views/advice to offer on band insurance 
in the UK? 

What to avoid, good deals/companies/policies?  We're definitely 
at the lower end of the valuation scale, but we have a few good 
instruments. The subject of insurance came up at the committee 
meeting, and no-one knew very much about band/instrument insurance. 

Should we get insurance at all, what should we insure against, 
what about members' own instruments used at our concerts, guest 
players' instruments etc?
