 Subject: Re: Results from Blackpool

Sorry Don. I didnt mean that I had some sort of clap-o-meter with me. I
am the sort of player who can't hear other bands at contests, I always
think "I wonder if we are/were that good...".."Oh God, that sounds
different to us, I hope we've got the speeds/interpretation right.."
 etc.etc.
All of my comments were from info I picked up outside the hall ie. Trade
stands, Restaurant, toilets, BAR ??. People generally tell the the truth
at the NW area of how they felt the big three play and I was just
commenting on what people had said to me.

 Note to Craig

We both know that Fairies have probably got the most powerful sound at the
moment of any band. However playing all the notes (on the right parts),
no splits or false entries and general dynamics should also be taken into
account. Splits and wrong entries should be penalised more than getting 2
decibels less than another band. (not saying we didnt have our fair share
 of splits??)
To close I am just SO glad we have qualified at the area (last time was on
Journey into Freedom) and I get the chance to get rid of a last place with
 Desford from around my neck.

How about a thread of what people think ARE the characteristics of their
band and other bands. If you DO say 'owt about the bands it should be
constructive even if it isnt positive ??
I will see if anyone is interested before giving my two-penn'th.
