I've read and taken note of the comments that have been made
following my reaction to Steven Booth's post. I think on reflection
that my reaction was excessive, given the nature of the list we're
on.

I think perhaps I should explain that my job includes anti-virus
work, and that I've had to deal with a number of these hoaxes in
the recent past. The lesson for me, I think, is to be more careful
to keep work-related attitudes out of my "social" email; as I'm
sure everyone will appreciate, this will be made much easier if
we are careful to follow the custom of keeping "on-topic" for the
list.

At any rate, I'm happy to apologise to all for the aggravation that
I've clearly caused list members, and to Steven specifically for
jumping down his throat. I also shall think more carefully in
future before posting.

Jazz? Sounds great - Whit Friday even more so.
