The trend here seems to play on large mouthpieces. Both baritones at
YBS were using Denis Wick 4AL mouthpieces at a recenty concert I did
with them and so dor both our baritone players (the shank has to be
turned down to fit).
The general thought is that the instrument has got bigger and larger
bored so the mouthpiece should change to larger than the 5BS and so
that used to be played on.
However, I am sure that Stephen Booth might have something to add on
what is after all his specialised subject.
