And what a good movie it was? About a dozen of us bandies went to see it on the first day and really enjoyed it. There were moments in the movie that really made us laugh that made the non-muso types turn around and look at us as if we were in fact very strange. This was very much the case whenever there was a close up of the lovely valve work :) We couldn't help but laugh everytime we saw it. None the less we enjoyed it completely. Ciao for now! Sydney newspapers have given it good revies (including one from a critic who enjoyed the dound of the trumpets...), and this morning (18 August) it was featured on page 3 of the Sydney Morning Herald, with an interview and splendid photo of Our Beloved Leader Cliff Goodchild. I don't know for how long the Herald keeps its on-line articles alive, but you can read the article (and see the pictures) on: http://www.smh.com.au/daily/content/970818/national/national3.html The main thrust of the article is the hope that the movie might spark off an overdue revival of interest in Brass Bands in Australia.
