The walk from Ambleside to Rydal water is pleasant and not difficult at all.
Hit Ambleside on a weekday; it's been Stratfordized. Two great pubs: The
Mason's Arms in Cartmel and the only pub in the tiny (and I mean tiny)
village of Ings. It's on the main road from Kendal to Windemere. Brass bands?
