Having been reminded of the controversy surrounding the decision to write
percussion parts for Pageantry    I have to agree,  Philip Wilby did write the
percussion parts.  Bram Gay's involvement was as the publishers general editor
at the time,  and if my memory serves me correct,  had the unenviable task of
explaining and defending the decision to publish.  Philip Wilby was given the
task, as a former pupil of the composer Herbert Howells'.

Many grovelling apologies  . . .
