I understand that the Open at the last minute due to Diana's funeral - and
in my opinion, rightly so.

As I'm now over here in Australia and don't have the same 'hands on' feel
for what's happening in the Bandworld, perhaps somebody can tell me how the
postponement came about.

Was it a bandsman's decsision or the powers that be? Was it met by majority
approval etc..


Look forward to finding out more.

PS - It will make an interesting trivia question in a few years. Who won
the Open in 97 - or even 98 (2 winners, maybe!)
