Dear all

Has anyone had a lacquered Sovereign Cornet stolen recently, serial number
759613, probably from the North West?  

I work in a music shop in Manchester, and we were offered this cornet for
sale yesterday afternoon.  The two people who came in were very shifty, and
gave a totally unbelievable story of "it was my grandad's and he left it me
in his will".  The cornet looked nearly new and it was in a new case.  We
have checked on our stolen instruments list, but as we didn't have
notification of it being stolen, we could not do anything to keep a hold of
the instrument.  We have passed the details on to the police, along with a
photo of them entering the shop.

If you know of anyone who HAS had it stolen, please reply directly to my
box.
