>Hi all, > >I have recently bought a wind up gramophone, and with it came 3 band records, >including a rendition of "Ravenswood" played by the St Hilda band - I find it >amazing to listen too - crackles as well! > Which reminds me of the letter which appeared some years ago in The Sydney Morning Herald: "I have a black disc, ten inches in diameter, covered with many fine grooves and with a small hole in the middle. Is this a record?" It also reminds me of the argument I often have with Our Beloved Musical Director, and that is the tradition of not going back to Da Capo after playing the trio in a march. I suspect that this arose because of the 3 minute restriction of 10 inch 78s. Do I have any supporters?
