Well Bill, be disappointed no more. Phillip tried to change the
sound of the band and to start with did have a limited success.
However it is impossible for one man to totally change the way that
players play; even the younger players in the band have been playing
10 years and have their own established sound.
Anyway towards the end of his time with us even Phillip would admit
that he revelled in the sound that we COULD make when left un-bridled
and often times asked for more.
Now we have Nicholas Childs at the helm, a former solo euph with the
band and a firm believer in the Fodens sound. In his first rehearsal
with us he made us blow more than we had for years even under Howard
in his last few years.
So beware.. the Fodens sound is back, ready to part your hair and
then stand it up on the back of your neck, make you learn forward to
catch the ppp's and then make your ears bleed :-)}

Finally I didn't quite understand what your comment
"whatever-they're-called-this-week" means. As far as I know the band
have only ever been known as Fodens or Britannia !

Informatively,

Phil Green.
