Evan, Thanks very much for your good wishes. We have some fine young players in the group and I'm sure they'll be a big success, musically. Our Board of Directors is interested, though, in the best way for us to operate and manage a Youth Band. So, I'll open this up to everyone and all opinions are appreciated. What is the best model for a successful Youth Band? Does it work best when they are affiliated with an adult group, or when they're run independently of it? How much parental involvement is helpful? When do the parents need to be restrained? Where do Youth Bands play (other than competitions)? What are the best ways to raise money for a Youth Band? If you've had direct involvement with a Youth Band, what has and has not worked for you? Thanks, Connie Varner, Triangle Brass Band, North Carolina, USA > Great stuff.....
