Hendon competed at the Reading contest today (Saturday). They came last. 
This must have been no surprise to anyone who heard their performance. It 
was absolutely dire.

The full results (as far as I can remember after about 15 pints) were:

1. Woodfalls
2. Aveley
3. Camborne
4. Sovereign
5. City of Oxford
6. Lydbrook
7. Morrells Concert Brass
8. Hendon

Best Instrumentalist: Joanne Henderson, principal cornet, *City of Oxford*.


City of Oxford members were not too upset by our fifth place - we are, 
after all, a first section band (officially) and none of our soloists 
played as well as they have done in rehearsals over the last week.

Well done to our principal cornet, Jo, who won the best instrumentalist 
prize (an honour that she has won at three out of the last four contests 
in which the band has competed).


P.S. Alastair Wheeler: you owe me some money for the chicken madras...
