Peter,
More to the point how many bandsmen have sadi that in the top section at
blackpool. The problem as always is that you have got to beat
Grimethorpe by 20 points to beat them by 1, they may have deserved it
this years but there have certainly been years that they didn't. What
was the test piece?

Sorry I've not got a full set of Blackpool (Mineworkers' Gala) results
as my
lift home left early but what I do have follows:

1.      Grimethorpe (Surprise, surprise!)
2.      Every Ready
3.      Fishburn
4.      Cwmamman Institute (Tower Colliery)

10.     Point of Ayr (PowerGen)

We're really pissed off because we thought we played well - but how many
bandsmen have said that over the years?!  I'll say no more since I
didn't
hear all the bands placed higher than us.
