In our= associations in UK, we tend to have unpaid administration staff (with the= exception of the British Federation of Brass Bands). After the Nationals this Easter, the VBL will no longer have a full time administrator. The state government has rejected their application for further funding. The state government also refused to fund the nationals inspite of a reasonable submission outlining benefits etc. [andy wooler] it might be interesting to us here in UK to see what kind= of benefits were justifying the position previously BE RELEVANT. If your organization is not relevant, it may not survive. Don't let well intentioned amateurs run the band or your organization. The band should be run like a business. Get people involved who have the relevant business skills to advance your band and the movement. [andy wooler] what a very true statement!
