I took the instrument to the local dealer and he cleaned them out, stated they were filthy. This bythe way, was on a new instrument, less than six mos old. I was also told that to keep them in good working condition, I had to keep them clean, and when I did apply oil, to clean the valves with warm soapy water first, and them a drop or two of oil.
