Sell Out Concert for Stonesfield Silver Band

Exeter Hall in Kidlington was packed to capacity on 3rd April for a
concert with London and Southern Counties section four champions,
Stonesfield Silver Band conducted by Terry Brotherhood and the Oxford
Welsh Male Voice Choir, conducted by Robert Webb.
Stonesfield Bands program included "You Needed Me" with Soprano cornet
solo by Sara Manners, "For Your Eyes Only" with Flugel solo by Andy
North, "Hot Toddy" featuring their award winning trombone section, Pat
Aitken,  Leasa Hunt, and Colin Ridgers, and "Scenes From a Comedy" which
won them the London and Southern Counties section four championship.
The Oxford Male Voice Choirs program included a selection from South
Pacific as well as several numbers sung in welsh. The choir are
celebrating their 70th year and the highlight of the year will be a
combined choir concert at Oxford Town Hall on September 19th.
For the finale the band and choir gave a combined performance of
"Jerusalem", which gave the evening a fantastic finish.
During the performance a presentation of a Silver Tankard and Band
Photograph was made to band member Phil Davies who has been posted to
Cyprus, but says he will be back.
