The Triangle Brass Band of the greater Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina is proud to announce British Brass Fest '98 A Celebration of Brass Bands Our guest for this special celebration is Mr. Steve Sykes, one of England's finest tuba players, who is coming to the US for a week of interaction with our band and local musicians, culminating in a concert to be held at 8:00 pm on April 25th at the Durham Armory. While in the area, Mr. Sykes will also perform with the UNC Wind Ensemble on Thursday, April 23 at 8:00 pm on the campus of UNC in Chapel Hill. This concert features the North American debut of Tuba Concerto by Martin Ellerby. On his concert with the Triangle Brass, Mr. Sykes will perform Czardas (Vittorio Monti), Impromptu for Tuba and the Salvation Army favorite Celestial Morn. The Triangle Brass will perform Mercury March by Van der Roost, The Plantagenets by Edward Gregson, Little Suite for Brass by Malcolm Arnold, Music for a Festival by Sparke, Folk Dances by Shostakovich and other selections. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and are available at the door. The Armory is located at the corner of Morgan and Foster Streets in downtown Durham. Parking is available immediately opposite in the parking deck.
