Hilary,
I always liked some of the old ones:
Suite Gothique, by Leon Boellman,
Mill on the Cliff (Die Felsenmulher, or similar spelling),
Perhaps more demanding:
Symphony of Marches - Vinter,
The Corsair Overture,
Prometheus Unbound,
Toccata and Fugue in D minor is fun,
the march Black Knight
Some perhaps to look forward to:
Variations on an Enigma -Sparke,
Variations on a Bass Theme,
Cloudcatcher Fells,
Prisms,
English Heritage,
Connotations.
Sometimes something a little quieter to practice pedals:
Pie Jesu
Winter from the Four Seasons
Hymn: Eventide
And many more, there's no reason for you to be playing oom ps's all
rehearsal!
Good luck with your conductor
