I've heard of a great piece by Wilby, wossname, Revelation.  9 independant
cornet parts, right up your street.  Thinking of getting the local 4th
section band to play it.  (don't forget the :)

Some music is playable by the vast majority of bands (well or badly, with
or without rehearsal) and some just isn't.  Yes it is good to play music
above the general standard of the band, but not good to overreach
yourself.
