As the front row cornet player who played the solo part for this piece also plays trumpet in a wind band we tried the piece with her playing the solo on trumpet. It sounded good with the trumpet carrying much better over the rest of the band than the same part played on a cornet. There was also a nice contrast between the solo playing and the parts where the tune is taken over by the rest of the front row cornets. The audience at the concert obviously enjoyed this piece by their enthusiastic applause and favourable comments afterwards. -- Hilary Mateer Hilary@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx BBb Bass Loxley Silver Band -- unsubscribe or receive the list in digest form, mail a message of 'help' to listserver@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
