Derek is still knocking about here.  We did a massed bands a couple of years
ago with Derek as guest soloist in Huddersfield.  He still has a great sense
of melody and style...such a shy and modest guy too!   Never did alot
conducting although i was in Fodens at the time he was their conductor in
the late 70's and got the band through to the National finals.
