Apologies on forgetting the tuba. It was late :) Although the Eb could be
considered a band instrument based on its overall usage.

I was limiting my comments to wind instruments (sorry).

Many are using trumpet in place of cornet, regardless of what is written
in the part. As for the Euph, I've always been taught it's nt a very
common orchestral instrument at all (except Holst, Wagner, and a few
assorted others).

Ok, fair enough. Write a work for the ensemble which you describe and get
an ensemble to play it. Then we'll finally have a comparision, and epople
can decide what they really do like. It would prove very interesting, and
people probably would enjoy it! Just don't call it a brass band. We've
already got those...
