GOOD FOR YOU PHILIP,

We have a similar problem here in Canada. How about trying to sing a
National Anthem half in English and half in French. The poor young
children don't really know the words for it is now always sung like this
when done pubicly. Then there are the singers, and I use that term
loosely, who think they must crucify the anthems. We probably hear the
American National Anthem more than we do the Canadian. They feel they
must perform and draw it out, put in trills, turns and whatever their
little hearts desire. We also have some who cannot even sing the tune
let alone remember the words. The Anthems are primarily done in public
at Sporting events and that is all now. We don't even open or close
programmes with them now.
What about the rest of the Commonwealth and other parts of the world.
How patriotic are you.

Look forward to hearing some of the answers.
