From: Rolf G Miezitis@NORTH on 04/06/98 08:43 I have a feeling that Grimethorpe will not have this problem. They have had the best publicity a band could hope for with unprecedented length showings of the film to get them started. Certainly in Hobart they can look forward to a packed house. (Could be a hint for any other English bands coming to Australia :-)) Seriously though, we didn't even KNOW that Stocksbridge had come to Australia until too late (though I understand that there were some unique difficulties with promotion there). Rolf Miezitis Baritone / Euphonium / Bass Trombone (in that order) When Dyke played in Sydney in 1988 they filled the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall (2-3000?). However other UK bands often gain poor attendances in Sydney, and I guess for the same reasons - lack of promotion. The visiting Salvo bands always draw big crowds, boosted by promotion within the SA I suppose.
